7 Eye Mask Recipes to help relieve Tired Eyes and Dark Circles #AtHomeWithVEX

Whether you are a party girl, a busy mom or someone who has been working or staring at the computer screen, these seven DIY eye mask ideas can help you remove stubborn dark circles and brighten up your tired looking eyes.

1) Cucumber Eye Mask

Ingredients:

• 1 cucumber

• 10-15 cotton pads

Instructions:

• Use your blender to blend a cucumber (it is ok to leave the skin on)

• Add a small amount of water to thin the cucumber’s juice

• Dip cotton pads in the juice and gently squeeze them to get rid of excess juice with your palm

• Place the cotton pads flat and separated in a clear sandwich bag and freeze them until they are iced

• Whenever you need, just take two cotton pads out of the bag and place them over your eyes for around 20-25 minutes

Benefits:

Cucumber is high in water content and vitamin K, which plays a huge role in refreshing and bringing your tired eyes back to a healthy state. Cucumber is also very effective in reducing the appearance of dark circles, hydrating and soothing the skin around your eyes. By soaking the cotton pads in the cucumber juice and refrigerating them, you can maximize the benefits and have your masks ready whenever you need them.

2) Potato and Mint Eye Mask

Ingredients:

• 1 potato

• 5-6 mint leaves

• 10-15 cotton pads

Instructions:

• Use your blender to blend a potato and the mint together (remove the potato’s skin)

• Add a small amount of water to thin the juice

• Dip cotton pads in the juice and gently squeeze them to get rid of excess juice with your palm

• Place the cotton pads flat and separated in a clear sandwich bag and freeze them to preserve future use

• Whenever you need, just take two cotton pads out of the bag and place them over your eyes for around 20-25 minutes

Benefits:

Potato contains a natural brightening agent which helps to remove dark circles. Mint has a cooling effect and soothes and removes the under eye bags making your eyes more youthful and lively. Similar to the cucumber mask, by freezing the cotton pads, you are able to take full advantage of the benefits of this mask.

Ingredients:

• 1 egg white

• 1 tablespoon of shredded carrot

• 1 teaspoon of aloe vera

Instructions:

• Combine the 3 ingredients above into a bowl and mix them up until they are frothy

• Use a brush to apply the mixture around and under your eyes

• Leave the mask on for 15-30 minutes and rinse it off with cool water

Benefits:

Carrot is full of vitamin A (retinol), which is a great ingredient in fighting wrinkles. Vitamin A softens the skin around your eyes, removes dark circles and helps you maintain a youthful look. Egg white contains proteins that help to firm your skin, and removes puffiness, while aloe vera is high in anti-inflammation and soothing agents, which work to calm irritation and redness.

4) Coffee Eye Mask

Ingredients:

• 1 tablespoon of coffee

• 1 tablespoon of honey

• 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil

• 5-10 cotton pads

Instructions:

• Brew a cup of coffee and let it cool

• Add honey and vitamin E oil in the coffee

• Dip cotton pads in the coffee and gently squeeze out the excess coffee

• Place these pads flat and separately in a clear plastic sandwich bag and freeze them

• Take them out when needed and place them over your eyes for 10-15 minutes

Benefits:

Just like how coffee wakes you up in the morning, these coffee pads can wake up your tired and puffy eyes. Caffeine in the coffee increases blood circulation, keeps fluid moving away from the eyes and removes bags under your eyes. Honey and vitamin E oil work wonderfully together to tighten and soften your skin as well as reduce swelling.

• Let the green tea cool down and soak the potato slices in the green tea

• Apply the slices over your eyes for 20 minutes
